Yoga for Surfers Apprenticeship Program

Purpose
The YFS Apprenticeship Program is an exclusive opportunity for you to study directly under Peggy Hall, Creator of Yoga for Surfers, and to assist her during a YFS Teacher Training Program!
As the pool of YFS graduates grows, there needs to be a system in place to select those who are best suited to participate in the YFS Apprenticeship program.

Who is Eligible?
The Yoga for Surfers Apprenticeship Program is open (by application) to graduates who have successfully completed the appropriate level of YFS Teacher Training.
For example, to be selected as a YFS Apprentice for a Level 1 training, you must have completed a Level 1 training. If you would like to be an Apprentice for a Level 2 training, you must first successfully complete a Level 2 training, etc.
What are the benefits of being a YFS Apprentice?
You will receive a minimum of 100 hours of additional teacher training at a fraction of the cost of a regular YFS TT program!
You will also get the chance to assist, demonstrate and teach in small groups to continue to develop your own teaching experience, style and voice.
As a YFS Apprentice, you have the opportunity to get behind-the-scenes and learn first-hand from Peggy as she organizes and implements a live event.
You will inspire, encourage and motivate those new to the YFS Teacher Training programs!
When you successfully complete 100 hours as an apprentice, you will have the designation of "Yoga for Surfers Apprentice" as an additional qualification as you progress in your yoga career!
What is included in the YFS Apprenticeship Program?
You will receive all of the training materials and goodie bags that regular trainees receive.
Food, accommodations and travel are not included and are the responsibility of the YFS Apprentice.
Keep in mind that each training is slightly different; given the nature of the participants, the length and location of the training, and the individual needs and goals of the trainees, you don't need to worry that you are going to learn exactly what you learned the first time you attended the training.
In fact, you'll have the chance to build on what you learned previously, and really allow it to sink in so it becomes more natural and effortless!
What will I be required to do as a YFS Apprentice?
For the most part, you will be participating in the training much as you did the first time around.
You will also assist with handing out material, taking care of certain on-site logistics, answering questions, helping the other trainees, etc.
As much as you feel comfortable, you will also be demonstrating certain poses, overseeing some of the group work, and generally pitching in where needed.
Of course, you'll also be included in every activity, surf session, excursion, etc!
What is the cost?
Your participation in the YFS Apprenticeship Program is offered at a greatly reduced fee; roughly one-third of the cost of full tuition. Please see the section below for application and tuition details.
Why is there a fee?
- Although I wish I could make the program available to all, the reality is there are costs associated with putting on the program.
-Because I wish to keep the numbers small, there is limited space that would normally go to those students paying 100% of the tuition.
- As a YFS Apprentice, you are not going to be simply doing errands and such; you will be an integral part of the training program, learning as much if not more than you did the first time.
- By investing money as well as time, the experience will have more value for you.

(2) Email your completed application to yogaforsurfers@cox.net
(3) Submit your application fee of $195*
* If you are not selected as a YFS Apprentice, your entire application fee will be refunded immediately.
Tuition Details
Application fee: $195*
Tuition: $600 (or two payments of $300)
Once you are accepted into the YFS Apprenticeship Program, you'll get details on how to make your tuition payment. Payment options are also available!
2011 Location Details
For this year, we are opening up the YFS Apprenticeship Program for the first time in Lennox Head, Australia!
Dates: Friday, October 21- Sunday October 30, 2011
This is a gorgeous time of year on the Gold Coast, NSW and the YFS Headquarters are absolutely beach-front! you also have the option of booking a room in the beach house as well!
